I plan on going to the Homecoming this year for the 1st time. Can someone recommend a good hotel in the area that has or is close to a decent sports bar (gotta have a cocktail after the long drive up)?

Thanks Dean, I live a few miles away so I don't use hotels myself. There are many choices closeby, Hotels dot com shows a good cross-section.

Show site is:

7285 Parsons drive Dimondale, Michigan

Even though we've moved to a new location, the Homecoming has grown every year and it is a blast. I can always be found in the swap meet area, please stop in to say Hi, always a pleasure to meet the Olds brethren.

When you say 'some' and 'of us' do you mean Jersey Devils? As in general terms, or are you specifically referring to anyone I may know?

Yes mile is thinking of trailer , I'm won't be bringing a car. Are the hotels reasonable there?

Brett,

I was emailing with him earlier suggesting maybe we could get a few guys to go. I was thinking about trailering mine. In case any of us had mechanical problems we could take mine off the trailer and put the broken down one onto it. We're just thinking about it now. It's 8 1/2 hours for me if I stay stateside. Dean's almost five more hourseast of me. I only save an hour cutting through Canada and I'll lose that going through customs twice. Norwalk in July would actually be better for me because it's a lot closer but I go to one local show a year and it's July 24th.

I see, it is definitely a haul for either of you. I am a little jaundiced as our company works across 3/4 of the lower 48, so for me to jump and drive 1500 miles isn't a big deal. But for normal people, i.e. not trolls like myself its a major consideration. Are you looking at the July 14th BOP show?

I've been invited a few times to go to the Northern Ohio Olds club show but its usually same time as Nats weeks IIRC. I might do the BOP too...something to keep in mind

I haven't really thought about any other shows. I've always wanted to go to Norwalk. I've never even been to the OCAnationals. My car'sonly been done four years. It was supposed to be done for Sturbridge but it wasn't.

Sad to say but the last couple Nats (even though they are for technically 4 days) are smaller than Homecoming (1 day), less people, less cars, less vendors.

But still I enjoy them all, I've started pushing to try & get the Nat's brought back & overlap it with Homecoming...That would be something.

Well, I want to go as I hear the same thing better than the nats and a lot more vendors. Cant take the 31 w 391's will be there in a week. So it would be the convert.

So I bring this up to the CEO, oh we should all go I have friends from the short bowel group(Sophia's peers' parents).................. So I am saying yes no whether that entails us in the SUV, plane , convert or a combination of, that's currently a question mark. Brett no Hilton , the 55 will work.
