Joffroi,

There's been quite a few of us that have gotten burned out on ROP or ClassicOlds, or both. We're looking for a fresh new site where we can shoot the sh!t about Oldsmobiles and not feel over moderated or smothered by the same old posts of the same old stuff so we're going to give this a try......who's in!

Sounds good! Let me know if there are any features you guys want or if something broke.

Do you have the ability to enable "new posts" as well as unread posts?

Thats going to be on the top of my "to-do" list. I created a thread about it in the site suggestions where I'll have updates about it. To be honest, getting all the view unread / since last visit stuff has been a huge pain in the ass. Its amazing how complicated it is to keep track of all that stuff and actually make it work right.

I'm in... I'm a big believer in leaving attitude behind and just enjoying the discussions while re-learning all the stuff I've forgotten since the last time I had an Olds (there's been a lot of Olds's over a lot of years). Looking forward to giving this a try.

Thanks to all the new members for joining and posting. Unfortunately as expected, with more traffic,a few minor errors in my code are getting revealed. I'm doing my best to fix them as fast as my 442 is. Bare with me :-). Of course, if you see any problems or have suggestions, feel free to post about them in the Site Suggestion area.

Thanks again.

Hey allyolds68,

Just wanted to let you know I built that "get new" feature you want (at least I hope so). I added a link for it in the navigation. So just a run through....

  • Get new - Shows post that are new or have new updates since the last time you have visted the forums.

  • Get unread - Shows post that have new updates that you have not read (time is no factor, just views).

  • Mark all as read - Marks all post as viewed or seen (both new and unread).

Hopefully it doesn't break! Enjoy and of course, let me know if there are any more must have features in the Site Suggestion forums.

I'm in & I hope this site takes off. ROP is what it is and CO is better to me than ROP but the over moderation is too much on CO.

Who's the part # stamping expert here? Is there an edit function here?

Mike,

Joffroi hasn't gotten an edit function yet. I've been just leaving the posts or, if I really screw them up, I delete them.

I don't know that we have any experts here. Henry always seemed to know more about part numbers than anyone else. Especially the pre-68 stuff. I don't think he on OC. But I'm sure you have his number if you need to know anyway......
