We’re sorry but while this car may still be available, this ad had expired.

The 4-4-2 was born out of competition between the Pontiac and Oldsmobile divisions of General Motors. The high-performance GTO version of the Pontiac LeMans had proved an unexpected success midway through the 1964 model year and Oldsmobile needed to respond. Oldsmobile’s play was to beef up the popular Cutlass in order to compete against Pontiac, although with only 330 c.i. it was playing catch up to the GTO. In 1965 Oldsmobile decided to utilize the 400 c.i. engine from their full-size offerings which gave the 4-4-2 a considerable power bump to 345 hp and 440 lb?ft. For the 1967 model year the 400 c.i. V8 remained although the intake valve size was increased to 2.067 from 1.99, giving the 4-4-2 a little more room to breathe.

Offered for sale is a gorgeous Fremont, CA plant born 1967 Cutlass 442 with just 8,642 miles shown, although total mileage is unknown. The gorgeous Burgundy Mist paint is the original color but has been resprayed within the last couple of years. During the repaint the whole body was stripped to bare metal and blocked until it was arrow straight. This gorgeous 4-4-2 comes equipped with power steering, power brakes, power seats, power trunk release, a new interior, new weather stripping, new chrome bumpers, original trunk, floor pans, and sheet metal.

Under the hood the car features the original Oldsmobile 400 c.i. V8 with a fresh valve job and head rebuild done in house by JBA. A Vintage Air A/C system has been installed as well to keep you cool and comfortable during the warm Southern California months. The car rides smooth and straight and is a real pleasure to drive.
