1968 Cutlass convertible that I have owned for the past 30 years and have gradually changed into a very accurate & highly detailed 442 4-speed clone. It is a correct year, very healthy, stock-original 400 big block, fresh rebuilt 68 Muncie M20 4 speed & rebuilt 3.55 10 bolt posi rear. I had completely rebuilt the front & rear suspension some years ago, and converted to front disc brakes from a 71 442. It has all 442 suspension- the sway bars, boxed rear control arms, & heavy duty springs. It also has a quick ratio pwr steering box from a 75 Trans Am, 3 turn lock to lock, KYB gas shocks, 15x7 GM steelies with 65 442 dog dish hub caps. Furthermore it has all the correct 68 442 emblems & trim inside & out. It's really only distinguishable from a genuine 442 by the vin code. Most 442 clones are not as accurately done as this one. I was fortunate enough to have a large selection of 68 442 parts so I could do it correctly with the intention of always keeping the car. I've put thousands into this over the last several months, long list of new parts, rebuilt parts, details, labor, etc etc...

It is a very solid car with older base/clear coat paint which was done by the friend I bough it from, painted over 30 years ago. He bought the car from what I believe was the original owner, a middle-aged woman at the time. It is not a show quality paint job so don't expect that for this price. It has flaws and age related issues but presents very well from a slight distance and looks great going down the road, typical 20 footer with a serious attention grabbing color combo. It gets stares & thumbs up every time I take it out. It is a factory code R scarlet red car but the paint shade is a brighter 1986 GM flame red. A great cruise night muscle car with a highly detailed engine compartment, interior & trunk compartment. I restored the interior & had a new convertible top installed many years ago and it has held up well. The power top works good and no fluid leaks. I just installed a brand new Trim Parts carpet kit the other night. The car has been kept out of the weather since late 80's, basically a nice weather toy only, never a daily driver since I've owned it. It runs, drives, handles & stops excellent, truly a blast to drive especially with the top down & the 4 speed, a well sorted out & dependable sweetheart of a ride! I have not gotten around to having new tailpipes installed yet, as you probably noticed in the photos. It is a genuine original 442 rear bumper with the exhaust tip cut outs and I just purchased a new set of 442 exhaust trumpets. There's a few small items to attend to yet, but nothing major here. The last picture is of some older snapshots of the car over the years with different wheels on it to give you and idea of how it changes the look, and also how far I took the car down for suspension rebuilding & clean up. I've gone over many different areas of the car over the years, cleaning, fixing & improving. Like I said, it is a solid body & frame, dry with no rotted floors or trunk, but will need some small patching just behind the rear wheels at the time when/if the car gets re-painted. Very minor considering it's almost 50 years old. This has been a Washington car it's entire life, so no worries about road salt rot, it has none of that. It also comes with extra parts like the original 400 big block exhaust manifolds, the convertible top boot, a brand new set of PUI 68 Cutlass/442 black front seat covers & some small misc parts.

I won't waste time with the lowballing b.s. so don't even bother. It is priced very fair considering what real 442, GTO & Chevelle convertibles are priced at.
