Was it just your first car by chance? Was it a family trend? I'm curious what got you specifically into the brand / specific model you have now.

i went through high school in the 70's and i had several friends that drove muscle cars during that time. one guy had a orange 1970 cutlass W-31 350w/4-speed and another friend had a black 1968 442 400 w/ 4-speed. my friend with the 68 442 spun a bearing in the enginewhile driving his car and parked it in stead of rebuilding it. he found a deal on a 1969 Chevelle SS 396/375hp w/ 4-speed he bought it and sold me the 442 for $500.00 (that was in 1978) anyway me and a friend rebuilt it i drove it and sold it for $1,200.00 to put a down payment on a 1979 Camaro Z-28( i love Camaros also had 4 of them ) but my all time favorite cars have always been 442'sand my dream car would be a 1970 442 W-30 455 w/ automatic trans orange w/black stripes. i am currently looking for a G-body ( 82-88)442 or Cutlass. i just have really fallen hard for these style Olds

Great story. I hate to say I was raised in the generation of Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics..... boring.

I have a liking of something different. Everybody has Chevelles and Camaros. You might step in some at a car show they are so plentiful. I like the fact that a lot of times my Olds is the only olds at the show. I now own a Toronado (66) and a 68 Cutlass S with a BB and a tremec. Funny, my first car was a SB Chevelle. I beat the snot out of that car. It was a great car for a teenager but now I can afford what I want.

My dad and uncle were Oldsmobile employees in Lansing and quite a few people in the neighborhood were Oldsmobile employed. So a constant beating on Oldsmobile plus from the early days until the 1990's you could not swing a dead cat with out hitting an Oldsmobile around the Lansing area!
