I'm sorry to say I don't have this coded yet, but I wanted to go ahead and make a post about it because I want to hear your suggestions and features you might want to see with it. Other oldsmobile forums seem to have pretty advance functions, so I'd like to know what problems you've had with them. Are there specific things you want to see work better with them (aside from the obvious "I just want to see what I'm looking for".

Let me know and I'll see what I can do!

I'd just like to see a search function that searches all the words and not just those over 3 characters. CO just sucks because of that and also the fact that they don't search back more than a few years

I spend a few hours and coded up a search function specific for this forum now and hopefully it works out well. I created a scoring algorithm that will hopefully display results based on relevance instead of if the post just includes the words. Its difficult to test with the forum still being in its "baby stages", so I'll probably be tweaking the function as it goes along. There are no limitations on character length, but of course some common words are thrown out ("I", "a", etc). There is no limitation on how old a post is for it to show up either.

The search form is available on every page of the forum.

Hopefully you find this as useful improvement!

I added the feature to search the forums to almost any page of the site now. In the side column you now have the option to search through the ads or forums. After selecting the radio button you want, just hit enter!

I just wanted to check in to see if there were anything thoughts on the search function or request for any tweaks with it.
