This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 was bought new at Van Trow Oldsmobile in Jackson, Mississippi in late 1971. In 1976 it was bought by it’s second (and last) owner, Mike Ming. This good guy died about 3 years ago and his widow has asked us to sell the car for her. The car was special ordered in 1971 by the original owner. The car has always been in the Jackson Ms. area. The car is a real U29 442 car and the current owner has the Build Sheet to prove that fact. There were 10334 442’s built in 1972. It was manufactured at the GM plant in Arlington, Tx. The car is as shown and will need a restoration. But it is all there and it cranks, runs and drives. The bottoms of the fenders, the bottoms of the quarters, the trunk floor and trunk floor extensions, and the trunk deck will need to be replaced. The floors themselves have no rust through visible. It was last driven in November 2016 but we have cranked and driven it at our shop.

The car is a bench seat, column shift vehicle with its original 455 V8 engine and 3 speed Turbo Hydramatic transmission. According to the Build Sheet it has a 2.73 rear axle ratio and the FE2 suspension package. The car is painted in Code 53 “Saturn Gold” with a black vinyl top. It has received one repaint and that was 25-30 years ago. It is a factory air conditioned (not working) car with power steering and brakes. We have all of the original A/C brackets, condenser, compressor, etc. It has a L75 455 4bbl engine and M40 3 speed automatic transmission. It still has the U69 AM/FM radio. There are 3 hoods: two aftermarket fiberglass ‘air’ hoods and the original non air induction 442 hood.
This would be a good project car. The car is located in Clinton, Ms. (just west of Jackson, Ms.) and can be seen and inspected there. Direct all questions to Mike Martin at the phone and Email address provided.
