Oldsmobile Hurst Olds
Location: Knoxville, TN
Engine: V8 3.7L
This classic Oldsmobile offers Hurst Lightning Rod shifters which allowed for a clutchless manual-like driving experience with the use of an automatic transmission. The Lightning Rods allowed for the driver to take control of the timing of upshifts and downshifts. This vehicle is often compared to the Oldsmobile Cutlass, but the Hurst/Olds is a limited production of 3,500 in 1984. Of those 3,500, only 1,500 had T-tops, which this vehicle does.
All 1984 Hursts were finished in the desirable Silver with Black skirt separated with red striping. It features a red cloth interior with wood accents and an analog dashboard. Other highlights include Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, Cruise, Tilt, AM/FM Cassette, Clock, Power Antenna, Dual Mirrors with Inside Adjust, Hurst T-Tops, etc.
This Hurst/Olds is one of a kind with low mileage and one owner. It was purchased off the showroom floor in 1984. This vehicle was mainly garage kept, with excellent interior. The original tires dry rotted, but replica Goodyear Eagle G/Ts were purchased with <500 miles on them currently.
Carfax is available, but there is nothing to report besides driver-side fender work done in 2016. I expect to list this vehicle on an auto auction website coming soon. Any offers need to be solid and quick.
